Mark Moody AB Sustain

AB Sustain has announced the appointment of fresh produce and chilled foods specialist Mark Moody as the head of its new carbon footprinting scheme for fresh produce.

In his role at the food sustainability group, Moody takes on the role of account manager, leading development and implementation of the fresh produce carbon footprinting models, which cover 30 different produce categories.

Moody has a strong background in the fresh produce industry, having previously worked for AG Thames, Utopia and other key importers and pre-packers, while dealing with most of the UK's major retailers.

'I am really looking forward to tackling the role at AB Sustain – the next 10 years will be crucial to the food industry and I relish the opportunity to be part of structuring and creating sustainable models in fresh produce,' said Moody.

And Simon Phelps, commercial director at AB Sustain, added: 'We are delighted to welcome Mark to our team during what is a very exciting time for AB Sustain. Fresh produce footprinting is a crucial area of development for us and we believe Mark's experience in this area will prove invaluable in the development and management of our carbon models, which we are looking to roll out to growers across the country.'
