Kiwifruit company Zespri’s groundbreaking pillbox retail packaging concept has picked up three marketing prizes at the Effie Awards Singapore.

The cardboard pack was developed with packaging specialist PackFora and promoted with the help of agencies Mindshare and Speakeasy.

Trialled at four branches of FairPrice Finest earlier this year, it featured seven SunGold kiwifruit in individual compartments labelled with the days of the week as a daily reminder to consumers to eat healthily.

At the ceremony, the pillbox picked up a silver award in the New Product, Service or Business category.

It also scooped two bronze awards in the categories Customer Experience and Food & Beverage - Grocery & Retail Distribution.
