Washington Apples is the official fruit partner of Indian premier league cricket team Chennai Super Kings (CSK), reports www.thehindubusinessline.com.
CSK owner India Cements said Washington Apples was a natural choice as partner because of the synergy between the two brands.
'The key words are fitness, health and lifestyle. And the focus is on winning,' India Cements general manager - marketing Chandrabhan Tiwari said.
Washington Apples sold some 70,000 tonnes to India last season.
'It is still small compared to the overall consumption of apples in India. But there is growth potential. India is the third largest export market for us after Canada and Mexico, and Chennai accounts for 60 per cent of India volumes,' Washington Apples India representative Keith Sunderlal told the publication.
