Table grape leaders host series of tastings for the Peruvian-grown premium fruit
Global leaders in the breeding and commercialisation of table grapes, Vanguard Group International, Bloom Fresh and SHB Group, have partnered to promote the first arrival of Peruvian-grown Bloom Fresh Ivory table grapes in Jakarta.
The partners hosted a series of in-person premium grape tasting events across 11 selected supermarkets from 7-28 February following the first container opening of Ivory on 6 February.
According to Bloom Fresh, Ivory is a green grape that boasts a uniform berry with a sweet, clean finish known for its crunch.
The daily tastings provided Indonesian consumers with the first chance to try the Peruvian-grown Ivory grapes at top supermarkets, including Ranch Market, Farmers Market, AEON, Yogya, and Hypermart.
“Those activities in-store are a great way to educate our global consumers around the wonderful tasting profile Ivory offer,” said Yuyuh Sukmana, Vanguard regional manager South-East Asia. “We aim to achieve the highest standards in quality in the production and commercialisation of our table grapes from Peru and are proud to supply the Indonesian market with uniform, sweet, crunchy Ivory.”
Josep Estiarte, CEO of Bloom Fresh said table grape imports are steadily gaining market share in Indonesia’s produce category, positioning them as the third leading fruit import.
“Consumption is expected to increase in the coming years in Indonesia,” he said. “In-store activations are crucial for raising awareness about premium, seedless, sweet, and crunchy varieties, such as Ivory, which is an excellent choice for Indonesian consumers.”
Ressa Lesnawati, SHB Group marketing manager said promoting seedless green grapes offers consumers a “delightful experience”.
“Premium varieties, like Ivory, not only enhance the enjoyment of fresh produce but also encourage healthier snacking habits, making them a perfect choice for every household,” Lesnawati said.
