The US Cranberry Marketing Committee (CMC) organised educational seminars in New Delhi and Bangalore last week, promoting the versatility and availability of US cranberries.
As India’s consumption of cranberries continues to grow, the US has been front and centre in driving the demand and raising awareness of the fruit.
“The Indian market offers enormous potential for US cranberries and is being considered one of the most important export markets for the US,” explained Alyson Segawa, manager of international marketing accounts for US-headquartered marketing company Bryant Christie. “This seminar is our initiative to raise positive awareness of US cranberries among trade.”
Indian chef Sabyasachi Gorai took part in the seminars with a live cranberry recipe demonstration, praising the versatility of the tangy-sweet fruit that he said made for an ideal ingredient choice for Indian consumers.
CMC has organised further promotional activities to grow awareness and demand for the fruit, including attending the Uppercrust Food & Wine Show in Mumbai in January, and the AAHAR International Food & Hospitality Fair in New Delhi in March.
