T&G Global has extended its relationship with leading Australian fresh produce company Montague.
Under the terms of a memorandum of understanding announced today (1 September), T&G will act as the official export partner for Montague’s stonefruit brands Croc Eggs and the Montague Tree. T&G will sell and market Montague stonefruit offshore, with the support of its Asian market offices.
“Asia is a huge, diverse market,” noted Scott Montague, executive director and general manager retail for Montague. “This partnership with T&G will ensure that our products enter this growing market via the best credentialed importers and distributors.”
The agreement builds on a 15-year commercial relationship between the two companies, which has seen Montague manage T&G’s Jazz and Envy apples under license for the Australian market.
Montague is one of Australia’s leading stonefruit producers and distributors, with its portfolio including its own PVRs.
“Montague is known for producing extremely high quality stonefruit,” said T&G’s executive general manager international, Sarah McCormack. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to build their brands across Asia as we have done with our own brands.
“Our strengthened partnership will open up new export markets for their growing volume of fruit across our global network including China, which Australia recently gained access to for stonefruit.”
The agreement is subject to the parties finalising formal legal documents, which they expect to do shortly.
