Taiwanese fruit is on display in Singapore, with a week-long promotion getting underway last Thursday, Focus Taiwan reported.
Taiwanese guavas, mangoes, grapes, bananas, watermelons and pineapples, are being sold at eight different Sheng Siong supermarkets during the event.
Consumers were offered free samples of jumbo watermelon at the opening ceremony, while mangoes and guavas were the best performing categories.
According to Taiwan's deputy representative to Singapore, Liang Hung-sheng, Taiwanese fruit is well-known for its taste and quality, and this event is all about showcasing this to Singaporean customers.
Sheng Siong managing director Lim Hock Chee said Taiwanese fruit and vegetables have a good reputation internationally thanks to the country's excellent production techniques.
