The first South African stonefruit of the season has arrived in India, with products including nectarines, peaches and plums.

According to South African Stone Fruits, the arrival marked a ”continued effort to strengthen the bond between South African growers and Indian consumers”.

“We are thrilled to bring South African stonefruit to India once again this season,” said Sachin Khurana, India representative, South African Stone Fruits.

”Indian consumers have embraced the exceptional quality of our fruits, and we are committed to providing them with the freshest and finest produce.

”This year, we are excited to introduce various consumer engagement activities, including in-store promotions and recipe-sharing campaigns, to enhance their experience,” Khurana outlined.

The group said that, to celebrate the launch of the season, consumers in India could look forward to ”exciting retail promotions at leading stores” where they would be able to sample and purchase the fruit.

Additionally, chefs and food enthusiasts are set to share innovative recipes using South African stonefruit, highlighting their versatility in both traditional and modern cuisines.

The fruit was now available across major Indian cities, South African Stone Fruit confirmed.
