Pakistan has always been one of the top producers in the food industry, but it is now trying to appeal to a broader range of customers when it comes to their mangoes by advertising through exhibitions, the Pakistan Observer reported.
The Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) have played a key role in these shows, successfully holding them in places including Iran, the UK and Holland.
After the success of an exhibition in Harrods, London, Pakistan high commissioner Wajid Shams-ul-Hasan held a meeting with the chief executive officer of the PHDEC, Bashir Hussain, praising him for holding an excellent event.
"I have seen that Pakistani mangoes, which were being sold in local markets only, are now present at Harrods shelves," sources quoted Mr Hasan, who believes Pakistani mangoes will be seen in more high-end markets in the near future. According to sources, he even went as far as saying his dream has some true after the Harrods exhibition.
