The latest update from Northwest Cherry Growers paints a rosy picture as the season progresses.
'Firm, sweet, juicy – optimum weather has the 2018 Northwest Cherry crop selling quickly in all markets,' the group said in its 19 June update.
'Harvest is in full swing across the Northwest – based on Round 3 industry crop estimates the volume that will be shipped this season remains close to 23m 20lb-equivalent boxes.'
The organisation said that it expected to ship nearly 9m boxes in June, up on the 7.7m boxes shipped in the same month of 2017.
