Paul Turner has been announced as a new director for Produce Marketing Association Australia New Zealand (PMA A-NZ).
Turner is the merchandise manager - produce at Woolworths Supermarkets and replaces Scott Davidson in the director role.
Turner brings with him 32 years’ experience in the food industry. In his role at Woolworths, he leads the commercial and operation teams along with Woolworths supply partners to deliver fresh produce to all the company’s Australian stores.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 years on the PMA A-NZ board,” said Scott. “Not only did it provide me with an opportunity to contribute to the produce industry at the highest level, it also provided me with an opportunity to work with some of the most talented and strategic industry leaders across Australia and New Zealand.”
Scott has made a move to New Zealand for a role as general manager – buying and merchandising with Countdown supermarkets.
Turner has been appointed alongside a new development at PMA-ANZ; the release of a brand-new platform connecting marketers called Marketing Exchange.
“The competitive nature of marketing has driven a lack of connection in the field, but what we need most is support. Marketers have much to gain from each other,” said Renée Mariette, Head of Marketing at PMA A-NZ. “The PMA A-NZ Marketing Exchange is designed to raise the bar of the collective, helping to drive fresh produce and floral marketers to best in class.”
The exchange platform is a closed group platform which will provide webinars, papers, reports and advice for marketers. It has been initially released as a six-month pilot and is available to PMA A-NZ members.
