Western Australia-based marketer Mercer Mooney has signed an agreement with Dubai-headquartered LucaZara that will boost the state’s export opportunities in the Middle East.
Mercer Mooney CEO Paul Neale said that while the company was the largest marketer in Western Australia, handling more than 30,000 tonnes of fruit each year, less than 5 per cent of that is exported.
“The partnership with LucaZara provides us with a terrific opportunity to open up export opportunities in the Middle East,” Mooney said.
LucaZara provides marketing and logistics services for produce brands in the Gulf and Middle East, including the Pink Lady brand, and is working with Australian companies and government agencies on the multi-industry promotion campaign ‘Now! In Season’.
“We’re excited to work with Mercer Mooney and its grower fruit base across West Australia in the Middle East,” added David O’Brien, LucaZara managing director.
