Maersk Line has been recognised with the Shipping Line of the Year award at the Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards 2011, held on 1 December in Shanghai, China.
The Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards are organised by Supply Chain Asia, bringing recognition to outstanding corporations and individuals in the fields of supply chain management and logistics.
Finalists are nominated by magazine readers and community members, while the final selection of winners is decided by a group of independent judges.
Mike Fang, head of sales for east China at Maersk Line, received the award on behalf of the company.
'Winning the Shipping Line of the Year award again proves to us that our efforts to improve through a focus on reliability, customer experience and environmental performance is paying dividends,' he explained. 'We truly appreciate this support and encouragement of our customers and will continue to try to set new standards in the industry.
'Our new Daily Maersk concept providing daily departures from four trunk ports in Asia to three North Europe main ports and offering a promise of on-time delivery is an example of this,' Fang added. 'We shall do our best to also make ourselves deserving of the trust and recognition of our customers in the coming year and beyond.'
