New Zealand apple grower and exporter Freshco will showcase its early-season Breeze apples in China this week, as production volumes ramp-up over the coming weeks.
Representatives from the company will join key import partner Shenzhen Yuanxing Fruits for a season launch in Guangzhou on Saturday (26 March).
Breeze is one of New Zealand’s earliest harvested apples, providing retailers and consumers with an opportunity to experience and enjoy a new season premium offering, with the fruit arriving in most Asian destinations from mid-March.
Freshco has been working on the breeding and commercialisation of the Breeze variety since 2008, with the company expecting to increase production volumes over the coming seasons.
“The 2016 growing season in New Zealand has been excellent for Breeze, delivering high quality fruit with superb sweetness and fantastic red colour,” Fresco said in a statement. “Breeze is aromatic and very crisp.”
