The 2017 campaign for the Bravo apple brand was officially launched with an event in Western Australia earlier this month.
Leaders from the horticultural industry joined retailers, social commentators and Western Australia’s agriculture and food minister, Alannah MacTiernan, at Perth City Farm for the event.
Guests were served a menu created by renowned chef Sophie Zalokar, with ANABP 01 apples (the variety which is marketed under the Bravo brand)featuring in every course.
The event served as a launch pad for the #BiteYourBravo photography competition, which will be run through social media. The winner will receive a weekend getaway to Pemberton, a hub for Western Australian apple production.
The burgundy colouredANABP 01 appleis currently grown exclusively in Australia, meaning demand has been high in both domestic and export markets as production volumes build.
Fruit West – which holds the exclusive licence to commercialise the variety – anticipates commercial production ofANABP 01 will continue to increase year-on-year for the foreseeable future, allowing the Bravo brand to be extended to more retail outlets.
