Greenergy is developing an agri-tourism park in the Philippines later this year, investing more than P400m (US$9.2m) in the project.
Antonio Tiu, chief executive of Greenergy, told BusinessWorld the park is expected to open in Batangas within the next two months.
“In a few weeks time, we will be opening an agri-tourism park that will hopefully change how Filipinos view farming and agriculture,” Tiu told BusinessWorld. “These are exciting times for the agriculture sector.
Greenergy is undertaking the project through real estate company SunChamp, developing mango and cacao orchards over 145ha of land.
Last week, Greenergy acquired a 25.92 per cent stake in Filipino grower-exporter AgriNurture, which trades Cavendish bananas and pineapples across China, Australia and Europe.
