Aldi Australia has announced it will open its first four stores in South Australia on 3 February 2016, kicking off it’s A$300m expansion into the state.

The German-headquartered retailer has completed construction on is RegencyPark distribution Centre, which can supply around 50 stores, according to AldiSouthAustralia managing directorViktorJakupec.

Aldi plans to open 16 stores in South Australia before the end of the year with plans to open its first stores in Western Australia by mid-2016.

The discounter has made impressive inroads along Australia’s East Coast, taking an 11 per cent share of the grocery market in eastern states in 14 years.
