Australian retailer Woolworths has opened its ‘next generation’ of stores on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The supermarket at Warringah Mall features loose organic fruit and vegetables, a broader range of health foods and a selection of bulk foods and nuts.
The store is the first of Woolworths’ new stores that will focus on healthy offerings and convenient shopping experiences.
“Warringah Mall represents the largest investment to-date in our store renewal programme and has been designed following a great deal of time spent understanding what our local shoppers are looking for,” Rob McCartney, Woolworths format development director, said in a company statement released 10 November.
“The store puts health at the heart of the shopping experience, encouraging customers to make healthier choices for themselves and their families.”
The next generation Woolworths store also features an in-store sushi section, a dedicated butcher, an in-store bakery and a full-time cheese expert.
“We’re proud to promote our fantastic local suppliers throughout the store and to celebrate we’ll be running a month long demo program where customers can come in store and meet with suppliers, who will be showcasing and sampling their produce and products,” added McCartney.
