Vertically integrated Australian fresh group Oakville (formerly Moraitis) has sold its banana division to newly established Nutrano Produce Group.
Led by CEO Chaise Pensini, Nutrano’s key lines will include bananas, tomatoes, berries, avocados and mangoes, with wholesale market operations commencing trading in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on 10 February.
“We are excited to have commenced trading under our new ownership structure, and will continue to service our valued customers with expert category management coupled with an extensive supply chain infrastructure including growing, ripening, and logistics,” Pensini said.
Executive chairman Tony Mahoney said the name Nutrano comes from the Italian word for nutrition, with the company devoted to supplying high quality produce.
