Freshcare, Australia’s industry-owned assurance standard for horticulture, has announced the appointment of Yvonne Diab asinterim chief executive.
This announcement follows the departure Benjamin Wash who recently took on the role in October 2019.
Allan Dall, chair of Freshcare, welcomed Diab to the position who will help lead the company as it prepares to roll-out significant initiatives.
“The prompt replacement of our previous chief executive, who resigned due to personal reasons, ensures Freshcare is equipped and resourced to continue with our commitment to being Australia’s leading standardforAustralian fresh produce,” Dall said.
“It is critically important that the Freshcare team continues to have strong leadership and support as we deliver on innovative initiatives designed to maintain industry growth and improvement.”
Diab joins Freshcare following marketing and leadership roles across the not-for-profit sector and member-based organisations including Vision Australia and Tafe and said she is looking forward to her new role.
“I am looking forward to working with the Freshcare team to maintain and grow our position as a leader in Australian horticulture assurance and continuing to deliver exceptional service to our members and participating businesses,” Diab said.
