Early bird tickets for the Sydney event close 30 April

Jim Monaghan, director of the Centre for Crop and Environmental Science at Harper Adams University, has been announced at the keynote speaker for the 2025 International Fresh Produce Safety Symposium (IFPSS).

The event returns to the Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach on 29-30 July for two days of high-impact conversations across the fresh produce supply chain.

The IFPSS will bring together global and local experts, regulators, and industry leaders to discuss emerging challenges, regulatory developments, and innovative solutions in fresh produce food safety.

Monaghan heads the program, a globally recognised leader in crop science, fresh produce safety, and agricultural innovation. He has spent over three decades pioneering research at the intersection of food safety, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture. His extensive work has contributed to transforming food safety standards across the fresh produce sector, from field to fork. 

Monaghan’s expertise has shaped food safety strategies from the UK to South Africa, Morocco, Spain, and beyond. He has worked with retailers such as Marks & Spencer on salad safety and led international research on microbial risk management.

Monaghan is set to bring his expertise to the stage, offering essential insights into the evolving landscape of food safety, sustainability, and the science driving the future of fresh produce.
