Peter Silcock has announced his resignation as chief executive of industry body Horticulture New Zealand (Hort NZ).
After more than 30 years in the industry, Hilcock said he is taking on a new role as the CEO of a company outside the horticulture sector, according to Voxy.co.nz.
“We are sad to see Peter go and will miss his industry knowledge and experience. He has served our industry very well,” said Hort NZ president Julian Raine. “He played a key role in the establishment of Horticulture New Zealand in 2006 and in the development of the industry’s development strategy, 10/2020.”
Raine said Silcock had accepted a new role as CEO with a national organisation outside of the primary industry.
