Heat and Control
Heat and Control is excited to present its non-destructive leak checking technology, suitable for processors needing to check their products for micro leaks. Traditionally, micro leaks have been found using a water bath, which means tested product cannot be returned to the line after a pass result, according to Heat and Control.
The company says its technology reduces wastage and allows tested products to return to the line after a pass result. Heat and Control is also exhibiting the new Ishida GN range of X-ray machines, which offer greater flexibility in detection capability.
GS1 Australia
GS1 Australia is celebrating 50 years since the first barcode was scanned, and in 2021 the 2DBarcode represents the next generation. Applicable for retailers and suppliers in the Australian market, the 2DBarcode can embed multiple data ele-ments (more than just the product ID like the barcodes of today).
The extra data can be items such as the best before date, pack date, batch number and more. This information is made available when the product is scanned at the point-of-sale. GS1 Australia says one of the big wins of this technology is the ability to stop the sale of expired or recalled products at the checkout.
