South Australian retailer Foodland won the national Canstar Blue award for most satisfied customer on 17 July.
The independent retailer pipped German discounter Aldi, which has won the award for the past three years. Aldi came in second, followed by IGA, Coles and Woolworths.
Foodland scored a perfect five star rating for store layout, product variety, food freshness and customer service.
The award is consumed by research agency Colmar Brunton, which surveys more than 3,000 Australians in their experiences at supermarkets across the country.
Foodland CEO Con Sciacca said the award was a testament to the hard work each Foodland retailer puts into its stores.
“Not only are we fully committed to servicing our South Australian communities, we are ensuring we give our customers what they want,” Sciacca said. “We are taking a customer centric approach in how we operate. It’s about building on our already strong Foodland brand, a South Australian icon and one of the State’s most trusted names. Awards such as this shows how important it is to meet your customers’ needs.”
Foodland operates more than 100 stores in South Australia.
