Australian Horticulture Trade (AHT), the peak industry body for Australian horticultural exporters and importers of fresh produce, has unveiled the agenda for its annual industry forum, to be held on Thursday 10 October at Mantra Tullamarine, Melbourne. The forum will consist of input from key government and supply chain representatives.

The one-day event will also include the AHT AGM, which will be held prior to the forum. While the AGM restricted to members the forum, which begins at 9:15am is open for anyone to attend. For attendance details contact AHT.

The forum agenda features presentations from the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s (DAFF) export operations, DAFF import operations and its biosecurity operations division.

This edition of the event also offers a chance for AHT to recognise the work of departing board member Joseph Saina, who has spent more than 20 years on the board including five years as vice chair and six years as chair.

AHT chief executive Lesley Shield said Saina had made a valuable contribution to the organisation and wider industry.

“Joe has been at the forefront, together with industry and government, in the development of market access initiatives enabling the Australian horticulture industry to continue to expand.”

AHT members will also be voting on a new suite of directors with nominees comprised of existing directors and new nominations.

“All nominees have been involved in the horticultural industry for many years and between them, have a wealth of experience. All provide their time and knowledge, free of charge to assist our members,” said Shield.
