Rolled out a successful product launch? Proud of a promotional push from 2017? Produce Plus and PMA Australia-New Zealand (PMA A-NZ) are now accepting nominations for the 2018 Marketer of the Year Award (MOYA).
Celebrating outstanding achievement in the marketing of fresh fruit, vegetables or flowers in Australia and New Zealand, the award is open to both individuals and marketing teams from any part of the value chain.
Whether you're a plant breeder pitching your product to growers, a post-harvest equipment manufacturer marketing your solution to packhouses, or a retailer tailoring a campaign to a new consumer demographic, any stakeholder from seed to shelf is eligible to be nominated for the award.
This year's recipient will join an illustrious group of previous winners. Compac's Matt Stillwell took out the 2017 award for his work on the Spectrim launch campaign, a predominantly online campaign that successfully segmented Compac's target audiences for the cutting-edge defect sorting technology.
Other winners include Freshmax Group's Matthew Crouch for the Sumo Citrus brand awareness campaign (2016); the Harris Farm Markets team for its 'Imperfect Picks' campaign (2015); OneHarvest for the launch of its Love Beets range (2014); Lisa Cork for her 'Love Kumara' rebranding project for Delta Produce (2013); and Sarah McRae at Freshmax NZ for her marketing of the Mahana Red Apple in New Zealand (2012).
'If you take a look through the MOYA honour roll you'll see some of the most recognisable names in Australasian fresh produce marketing,' said Matthew Jones, editor of Produce Plus.
'What's really impressive is the wide range of segments within the supply chain they represent; it really is a pan-industry award. What unites these campaigns is an ability to think outside the box and command the full attention of their audience.
'We're looking forward to receiving another great set of nominations for MOYA in 2018.”
The 2018 Marketer of the Year will be announced during a gala dinner at the Hort Connections conference and trade show in Brisbane on 18-20 June. Self-nominations and nominations by third parties are welcome and must be received by 31 March 2018.
