Better pricing for certain products has contributed to improved annual sales at Dutch vegetable marketer ZON Fruit & Vegetables, leading German fresh produce weekly Fruchthandel has reported.
According to the magazine, the Venlo-based company achieved sales of €334m during 2010, up on the €267m sold in 2009.
However, the report stated, the company continued to face a challenging market for peppers, with profits in the category during 2010 showing no significant improvement on the previous year.
Detailed results are due to be published by ZON after its upcoming annual general meeting.
