Israeli shipping group Zim Integrated Shipping Services announced last week that it intended to increase the freight rates on transatlantic journeys, according to Port2Port.
Rates will reportedly rise from 1 July on westbound cargo from northern Europe, Scandinavia and Baltic ports to the US and Canada.
The general rate increase is reported to be US$350 per 20-foot container and US$450 per 40-foot and 40-foot high cube containers, both dry and refrigerated.
