Seed development company Zayintec has announced that a newly developed white cucumber variety is attracting interest among potential customers in Europe.
The Spanish group has said that its white Banglas F1 variety, developed in Almeria, could attract particular attention in Belgium and the Netherlands, for its colour, sweetness and intense flavour.
'[Banglas F1 represents] a return to origins for Dutch and Belgian consumers, reminding them of some of their traditional specialties that are produced in small quantities and are now difficult to find,' explained Zayintec CEO Francisco Bermudez.
The variety is now into its last year of testing before potentially moving on to being marketed on a large scale, with test results proving to be 'promising', the group noted.
