New figures published in the Federal Gazette have revealed that German retailer Lidl enjoyed a strong 2010, with net profit for the fiscal year ended 28 February 2011 improving significantly.
According to the figures, profit jumped 62 per cent on fiscal 2009, up to €665m, with group revenue rising 2.3 per cent to €31.5bn, Kam City reported.
While individual country-specific results were not made available, the group's operations in the Czech Republic saw profits fall 96 per cent to €1.36m, while sales grew 2 per cent €796bn.
