Russian retailer X5 has revealed that it saw total sales rise by 8.3 per cent during the full-year of 2012, up to R490bn (€12bn).
Same-store sales dropped 1.4 per cent on 2011, negatively impacted by falling store traffic.
Customer numbers actually dropped 3.1 per cent year-on-year, offsetting a 1.7 per cent increase in average shopping spend.
Sales at stores open for at least 12 months were flat, with traffic down 3.6 per cent.
