Growers can now access Vica Alegría under a free marketing model
Viveros California has announced that its Vica Alegría raspberry variety is now available to all producers who wish to grow it.
According to general manager Antonio Infante, the premium variety is designed to adapt to various climatic conditions and planting periods so that farmers can optimise production cycles by adapting them to the needs of customers. “This ensures quality and profitability for farmers,” he said.
Viveros California, which officially presented this variety at last year’s International Berry Congress in Huelva, said farmers can access it freely, without restrictions from clubs or exclusive agreements.
“Vica Alegría has been tested with excellent results in different international agricultural environments, highlighting its adaptability in Huelva, Portugal, Greece, Morocco and Mexico, the Huelva-based nursery said.
“This variety stands out for its efficient production cycles, the entry into production occurs in about 115 days and after pruning, in 70-80 days, optimising times and improving crop planning.
“It is a variety with high productivity and profitability, with an approximate production of 2kg per plant in both harvests. In addition, it has exceptional quality and large size, maintaining its characteristics throughout the production cycle. And a unique flavour, with a Brix level close to 10º, guarantees a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity.”
Viveros California said its commitment to a free marketing model allows farmers to “maximise their yield without limitations, facilitating access to premium varieties and opening up a range of possibilities for the sector”.
