US importer-distributor Vision Import Group has announced the opening of a US southeast branch in Lakeland, Florida, to support the firm’s import activities nationwide.
In a press release from the company, Ronnie Cohen, vice-president of sales and one of the company’s owners, welcomed Bruce Letchworth to lead the sales team and Lindsay Love as sales assistant.
Letchworth and Love both have wide experience in the fresh produce industry and a “stellar record” of customer service, assets that Vision values highly, Cohen explained.
Recently, he said Letchworth and Love worked at the Lakeland office of US retail giant Supervalu, while Letchworth spent time at Save-a-lot and Publix prior to working for Supervalu.
“Bruce and Lindsay are well-known and respected in the industry, so we could not be happier than to have them on board with us at Vision Import Group,” Cohen noted.
“Now that our long range goal of opening a Florida office has been realized, we see it as a significant enhancement to our import business.”
Cohen said the Florida office rounds out the company’s complete ability to service customers with a national scope.
“Additionally, our company is uniquely positioned to work with Mexican, Central American, and South American growers and shippers to give them a presence in all geographical areas of the United States.”
Vision Import is partnered with Vision Produce Company in Los Angeles and operates offices in Phoenix and Nogales, as well as with Vision Produce Partners of Texas.
The company operates another office in Pharr, Texas, where it employs a quality control and support manager for all the products it carries from Mexico through Texas into the US.
Vision Import Group is headquartered in River Edge, New Jersey, in the US northeast.
The company mainly imports limes, mangoes, pineapples, clementines and lemons, from primarily Latin America but also as far as Spain and Morocco.
