Spanish fresh-cut specialist Verdifresh has launched redesigned packaging for its entire salads range, as well as debuting a new salad mix, called Tentación (temptation), with major domestic retailer Mercadona.
The company has simplified the design of its salad bags, which is said in a statement would enable better visibility of the product inside and eliminate superfluous costs from the production process.
At the same time, Verdifresh has debuted its new Tentación mix in branches of Mercadona across Spain. The product includes iceberg and batavia lettuce, lollo rosso, baby spinach and carrot, and will sell for €1.
The Valencia-based company forecasts that it will reach a turnover this year of €73.2m, which, if achieved, will equate to a 6 per cent increase compared with 2009.
Verdifresh, which currently has four production facilities in Ribarroja (Valencia), Antequera (Malaga), Aranda de Duero (Burgos) and Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), has worked exclusively since its establishment in 2000 with Mercadona, supplying its 1,200 outlets across Spain.
