Discount grocery chain Aldi has announced that it is to boost its US presence by opening an additional 75 new stores this year, including its first New York City location.
According to a report in the Progressive Grocer, the group will open the stores across the 29 states in which it already has a presence.
Martha Swaney, spokesperson for Aldi in the US, told the publication that the expansion would allow the company to 'continue to meet customer demand'.
Aldi operates just under 1,000 stores in the US.
