Mangoes

The first Peruvian mango volumes are expected to arrive in the US during the second week of December, according to a news release from the National Mango Board (NMB).

Volumes are estimated to reach approximately 6.3m cartons, the NMB said, with adjustments to be made throughout the season.

Supplies from Peru will peak during the month of January before tailing off in the run up to the season end in late March.

The NMB added that Ecuadorean mango imports are currently in full flow in the US, with volumes projected to have reached around 5m cartons by the season in January.

The figure is down from the pre-season estimate of 6.8m cartons, according to figures from the Ecuadorean Mango Foundation (FMDE).

Meanwhile, final mango shipments from Brazil docked in the US last week, the NMB said, rounding off a solid season during which the US has received some 6.2m cartons of the fruit.
