Fresh and Easy store

Tesco's Us operation, Fresh & Easy Neighbourhood Markets, has revealed that its chief marketing officer Simon Unwins has left the group to 'pursue other interests'.

Unwins was one of the original team behind the UK-based retailers move into the US, and his recognition was recognised by Fresh & Easy's director of neighbourhood affairs Brendan Wonnacott.

His departure came as Fresh & Easy president and CEO Tim Mason said that Tesco was 'shaking up' the operation, bringing all elements of the chain related to customers in its commercial and marketing divisions into one team, the Financial Times reported.

'We constantly review our structures to ensure they most effectively support the business,' Wonnacott told CSP Daily News. 'As the Fresh 7 Easy business continues to grow and attract more customers, we have decided to combine the commercial and marketing functions to ensure that all our operations including the Kitchen and supply chain are focused on delivering for our customers.'
