The Univeg group of companies has announced that it has changed the name of its Deutschland affiliate Josef Ahorner to Univeg Austria, in a bid to take advantage of the company's 'significant brand recognition'.
According the group, Univeg Austria will benefit from existing worldwide sourcing capabilities, providing the full spectrum of fruit and vegetables and related services to a broad customer base that includes eastern Europe. An aim of Univeg Austria is to develop the Austrian and eastern European retail market as a complete fresh produce solution provider.
'The renaming of Josef Ahorner into Univeg Austria builds further on a strong market position and shows Univeg's commitment to deliver added value to our customer base,' said Christoph Klip, head of Univeg Austria. 'By using Univeg's global expertise, we combine overall sourcing, distribution and logistics capabilities and enhance our product range.'
Univeg highlighted the fact that no changes had been made to the way business is done with customers and suppliers of Univeg Austria, with familiar contact partners continuing to work for the group's customers.
The group will continue to operate out of Vienna and Innsbruck, guaranteeing fast delivery and seamless control of the supply chain, Univeg said.
