Univeg Group has announced the appointment of Davide Bustreo as its new chief financial officer, with immediate effect.
The appointment of Bustreo, who originally joined Univeg in 2006 and, as part of the group's management team, has taken on an increasing number of responsibilities during the past five years, marks the completion of Univeg's senior group management team following a period of reorganisation.
'We are very pleased to have Davide join our senior management team to provide financial and strategic leadership to the Univeg Group,' commented Theo de Kool, the company's chief executive officer.
'His financial skill set and broad experience in the fresh produce business will provide the company with significant management strength as we continue to deliver on the great potential of the company's assets.'
Bustreo previously served as auditor and transaction advisor at Andersen, and has carried out a number of different finance-related roles within the fresh produce industry itself, including a stint at Bocchi Group – now part of Univeg.
He succeeds Koen Sticker, who had been working as Univeg Group's interim CFO.
'We thank Koen Sticker for his work as interim CFO over the last couple of months,' said De Kool. 'The work of Koen and his team is instrumental in helping to build the Univeg Group into the company it is today.'
Sticker, who remains part of Univeg's executive committee, will now take on the role of finance director and report to Bustreo, while also reporting to De Kool in his capacity as project manager within the group's project management office.
