United Fresh has held talks with the China Fruit and Vegetable Association (CFVA) to discuss the nature of the produce industries they represent.
Victoria Backer, senior vice-president of United Fresh, and Burleson Smith, the association's vice-president of sustainability, met eight members of the CFVA as part of the Chinese group's visit to Washington, DC.
The meeting covered information exchange and other areas where the two organisations could foster co-operation.
Smith commented: 'They are faced with many of the same challenges that we face here in the US, like how to facilitate the movement of product along the supply chain and how to manage produce from multiple growers.'
