Fruit Attraction served as the backdrop for the launch of Unica Group’s new line of fresh-cut products, ‘The Chef in You’ last week. The range is aimed at consumers with less knowledge about how to cook from scratch, providing them with practical solutions to help them incorporate fresh vegetables into their daily diet.

Managing director Enrique de los Ríos highlighted the importance of this project as an opportunity to revalue agricultural products and contribute to a positive change in the eating habits of consumers:

“We need to reverse the current trend towards a sedentary lifestyle and the consumption of ultra-processed foods. With The Chef in You we want to facilitate access to fresh vegetables and promote a healthier diet,” he said.

During the trade fair, Unica also ratified its agreement with Alicante-based Surinver, which recently joined the group as a second-level cooperative. The signing was led by the presidents of Unica and Surinver, José Martínez Portero and José María Pérez, respectively, together with their general directors, Enrique de los Ríos and Salvador Hernández.

Surinver’s integration in the group will strengthen Unica’s position as a leader in the production of California peppers, allowing it to offer this product during the 12 months of the year. Unica said the deal underscores its “commitment to the continuity of supply and quality, positioning itself as a benchmark in the fruit and vegetable sector”.
