National Fruit Show 2009

This year's National Fruit Show in the UK, which takes place in Kent, southern England on 20-21 October, is expected to offer trade visitors a bumper crop of exhibitors showing off a number of new fresh produce varieties.

The event will also include a number of specialist talks on a range of subjects in the 'Speakers' Corner' slots that run throughout both days, with subjects up for discussion including building workforces, orchard planning, land use and avoiding tax in the fruit sector.

In addition, the 2010 show will feature for the first time a soft-fruit prize, which event chairperson Sarah Calcutt hopes will play its part in encouraging a record-breaking number of entries.

'Income has already matched 2009 levels, we have an impressive array of both long-standing and new exhibitors lined up and tickets for the dinner sold out two months ago,' said Ms Calcutt, business and development manager at event sponsor Norman Collett. 'It looks set to be a great show that once again highlights the excellence of this country's fruit while keeping growers up-to-date with new technology, products and services.'
