French logistics organisation Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has announced an increase in annual turnover of 8.5 per cent for 2012, up to €3.88bn from €3.58bn the previous year.
There was improvement across the board, with transport, logistics and freight forwarding all recording higher turnover levels than in 2011.
Transport division turnover jumped 3.7 per cent to €2.04bn, while logistics division turnover improved by 12.2 per cent to €1.78bn.
The highest year-on-year growth came in freight forwarding operations, however, with turnover soaring 67.1 per cent to €143m.
'Norbert Dentressangle maintained its growth dynamic throughout the 2012 financial year, despite a worsening and more volatile economic environment,' said Hervé Montjotin, CEO at ND. 'The targeted acquisitions that we chieved this year have consolidated our international positions in terms of freight forwarding and logistics.
'The flexibility of our organisation and our rgourous management enable us to look forward to further operating profit growth,' he added.
