Independent seed company opens doors of its trial farm in El Albujón, Murcia on 11-13 February

Tozer field days

Tozer will showcase its latest innovations in vegetable seeds at its trial farm in Murcia. From 11-13 February, professional visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of celery, chard, coriander, kale, leek, wild rocket, salad onions, and spinach. A total of 150 varieties will be on display.

These include four new green kale varieties, identified as TZ8279, TZ8276, and TZ8265, which Tozer said stand out for their productivity, colour, and yield. In addition, the TZ9533 celery—a dual-purpose innovation—is Tozer’s proposal for both the stick and pre-packed segments.

“We are very proud of these innovations. On one hand, the improvements achieved in kale are truly remarkable. On the other, the versatility of our new TZ9533 celery is unmatched, something producers will undoubtedly appreciate,” said Manuel Hernández, sales manager for Spain and Portugal at Tozer.

Tozer and co-organiser KWS will offer various information sessions, open to all registered participants. A presentation by Dr Jamie Claxton, Tozer’s director of research and development, will take place on Wednesday, 12 February, at 11am focusing on diseases in wild rocket.

The event will also welcome teams from the Netherlands, UK, US and China. “This event is not only an opportunity to present innovations to our customers, but also a unique chance for knowledge and experience exchange between teams and customers from many countries,” said commercial director David Rogers.

“At Tozer, we firmly believe that strengthening relationships and maintaining a spirit of collaboration are key to successful work that enables us to face the industry’s common challenges.”
