Univeg Germany, part of Belgian company Greenyard Foods, has confirmed that its managing director, Thomas Averhoff, is to step down at the end of the year.
Averhoff, who was appointed to his current position in 2009 following a decade at the helm of Univeg’s Hamburg office, has spent a total of 25 years with the business – including time with the former Atlanta Group.
He will be officially succeeded on 1 January 2017 by Lars Wagener, although the latter will also take on responsibility for Univeg’s Germany market region as of 5 September.
As such, Wagener will be responsible for Univeg Germany, Univeg Trade Spain, Univeg Trade Italy, Univeg Trade Benelux and Univeg Flower Trade, as well as maintaining the division’s focus on supplying and serving fresh produce buyers Germany and Austria.
Wagener was previously managing director of Belgian biscuit manufacturer Griesson-de Beukelaur.
