Bayer CropScience has announced that it has signed a global cooperation agreement with Netherlands-based marketing organisation The Greenery, with the aim of further expanding food chain partnership projects on an international scale.
The food chain partnership projects pursue the sustainable production of high-quality fruit and vegetables, while supporting producers to implement optimised crop protection projects, according to Bayer.
Growers, suppliers and retailers all benefit from the projects, with consumers subsequently able to take advantage of the resulting high-quality fruit and vegetables.
The move comes after the success of over 30 existing collaborations between the two groups, spanning Europe, Latin and central America, Asia and Africa.
'This continued cooperation shows the dedication of our partners and underlines our commitment to increasing the production of fruit and vegetables in a sustainable manner, said Philip Smits, CEO of The Greenery.
'This agreement marks a milestone in our collaboration,' added DrRüdiger Scheitza, member of the board of management at BayerCropScience.
