Target

US retailer Target is aiming to construct a new regional food distribution centre in North Texas, according to local reports.

The group is looking to build the centre in Denton in order to serve stores in eight states currently supplied by Supervalu, the Progressive Grocer reported.

The 365,000ft2 complex is located some 35 miles northwest of Dallas, and should be operational by early 2013, the Dallas Morning News said.

It could eventually supply around 235 Target stores in Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
