European retail giant Tesco has solidified its position at the top of Ireland's retail rankings in 2012, according to data released by Kantar Worldpanel for the year-long period to the end of November.
Kantar showed that Tesco has improved its share to 27.9 per cent year-on-year, an increase 1.3 per cent.
However, second-placed Dunnes saw its market share drop 3.2 per cent from 24.1 per cent to 23.2 per cent, and third-placed SuperValu endured a drop of 0.2 per cent, down to a share of 19.4 per cent from 19.5 per cent.
Discounter Aldi has grown its share by 31.5 percentage points, now holding a market share of 6.2 per cent from 4.7 per cent in the same period of 2011.
