UK supermarket Tesco has announced it is introducing baby aubergines to its Finest range, making the vegetable available throughout the summer.

The vegetables are produced exclusively by fresh produce specialist The Greenery and are said to be ideal for inclusion in Asian dishes such as stir fries and curries.

The Greenery UK's commercial manager, Will Ison, commented: 'There is a real demand from consumers for fruit and vegetables that are a little different from the norm and we are confident that the baby aubergines will meet their tastes.'
