US retail chain Target plans to add fresh produce, meats and baked goods to its North Carolina Charlotte-area stores next year in an effort to increase the frequency of customer visits, reports the Charlotte Observer.
Target, which operates 12 Target and three Super Target stores in the region, hopes the move to expand its offer will draw more mid-week trips, the report said.
Target would not give an exact timetable or disclose the location of stores where food will be added.
The expanded food sections are part of Target's national strategy, the report said.
